But don\u2019t be fooled \u2014 it might not be immediate.   It could feel gradual over time. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It\u2019s easy to miss the connection, but for some dogs, vaccines and other immune stressors can create shifts in <strong>mood, focus, and emotional balance<\/strong> \u2014 all of which influence behavior.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Why the Body Affects Behavior<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">When the immune system is activated, it doesn\u2019t only affect the body \u2014 it influences the brain, too.<br \/> The same immune chemicals (called cytokines) that fight infection can also alter neurotransmitters related to mood and stress regulation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">So when the body is inflamed or overwhelmed, you may see:<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Increased anxiety or startle response<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Restlessness or hypervigilance<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Irritability or short temper<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Sleep disruption<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Loss of focus or impulse control<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">To the untrained eye, these look like \u201cbehavior problems.\u201d<br \/> But from a holistic lens, they\u2019re signs that your dog\u2019s <strong>nervous system is under stress<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCVM) Explains It Beautifully<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">In TCVM, emotional balance is tied to the health of the internal organs \u2014 especially the <strong>Liver<\/strong>, which governs both detoxification and emotional flow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">After vaccination, the Liver may accumulate what\u2019s called \u201cHeat\u201d or \u201cStagnation,\u201d showing up as:<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Agitation or frustration<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Eye or skin inflammation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Digestive upset<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Tight muscles or stiffness<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">And because the Liver also governs emotions like <strong>anger and irritability<\/strong>, that imbalance can express as reactivity, barking, or short temper.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">This is why some dogs who were calm and cooperative before suddenly struggle with self-control or emotional recovery afterward.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Training Alone Isn\u2019t Enough<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">When I see a dog with new or worsening behavioral symptoms, I look beyond obedience work.<br \/> Behavior is the <strong>language of the body<\/strong> \u2014 and that means physical stress, diet, toxicity, and inflammation must all be part of the conversation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A stressed nervous system can\u2019t learn effectively.<br \/> That\u2019s why my behavior programs integrate:<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Nervous-system regulation<\/strong> through gentle conditioning and essential oils<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Liver and immune support<\/strong> to restore internal balance<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p agitation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">New compulsive behaviors (licking, spinning, pacing)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Increased reactivity or sensitivity to touch\/sound<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">A noticeable shift within weeks of vaccination<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">These changes are your dog\u2019s way of saying, <em>\u201cSomething
